Text Base Guide:
The first thing you need to do is get the mainboard version that is in your printer. Unfortunately, there is no way to get the version from within the software, so we must get it from the board itself. There are two ways to get that.
The easy way which should work in most cases is to put the printer on the side and look through the vents on the bottom to see if you can see the version. This should work most of the time, but if you can’t see the version, you will need to take off the panel around it to expose the board and get the version.
Next, we want to go to Creality’s download site (https://www.creality.com/download) and get the latest firmware for the printer. Some older firmware is available on Creality Cloud website: https://www.crealitycloud.com/software-firmware/firmware , otherwise you can flash provided bin from our support team*.
Once you have the firmware bundle from Creality, you will want to unzip the folder and find the actual firmware file you need. In my example, I want to get the “Ender-3 Pro- Marlin2.0.1 – V1.0.1 – English.bin” file that’s under the “Marlin2.0.1 V1.0.1 original version” folder. If you have the BLTouch/CR Touch you will want to make sure you get the file for that.
NOTE: SD Card should be formatted to FAT32 (4096 allocation byte size) and less than 8GB, best to have no other .bin files on the sd card.
DO NOT UNPLUG THE PRINTER. Interrupting the flashing can “brick” your board and if this happens you will need to reflash the bootloader with a programmer before you can flash again.
Assuming you copied the right file to the SD card, all you need to do is put the SD card in the printer and power it on. From there, the printer will pull the file and install it on the printer. The entire process should take less than 30 seconds. Once the printer boots into the standard interface, you can remove the SD card. You can check on the computer if it flashed correctly, the .bin file should have file extension renamed to .CUR.
*You understand that this is provided as-is with no support, warranty, or guarantee from DREMC PTY LTD. This down is put out for the 3D printing community for free to help people out. Support is not included with every purchases but can be purchased in 1-hour blocks of time from our support team if you need help with custom firmware that we don't have ready to provide for your printer additional modification.
