DREMC Filament Printable Addons

For Bambu Labs AMS

Note: Our spools will work seamlessly with the AMS/AMS Lite without any modifications*. We personally run them without plastic spool edges on our AMS. We primarily use printed spool edges for larger multi-color prints, along with a heavy object placed in the center of the spool to weigh down spools with less than 50% filament remaining. Otherwise for single colour printing we mostly use without plastic rings.

Which spool do I have?

You can identify your spool by checking the filament retaining holes. If they are oval-shaped, you need V1; if they are round-shaped, you need V2.

*Note: For some filament such as ASA/ABS/ABS+ is less dense so filament are packed more to full, so you may have initial issues with feeding/retracting filament mostly an issue for AMS not for the AMS Lite, please keep a eye on retraction of new full roll. If you don't use much materials it may be tricky to fee materials through the retaining holes so you may to print filament clips to keep loose end secured. Damaged Cardboard Edges

If your cardboard spool is damaged, please use the attached clamp and roller combo files along with the AMS system. We recommend printing these parts in PETG. If your spool was damaged during transit, please contact us with a photo of the damaged spool, and we can arrange for a future spool discount, depending on the condition of the damaged edges.

For centre stiffeners compatible with Creality-type spool holders (if you’re experiencing feeding issues) and for use with damaged cardboard spools or drying filament at temperatures over 80°C for engineering materials like Nylon and CF blends, see the attached STL or the link below. Since the glue is only rated for approx 70-75°C, ensure you print the part in ASA/ABS if it’s for drying; otherwise, PETG is suitable for reducing friction on cardboard spools.

For B2B orders, you still have the option to choose between 1kg or 2kg spools in plastic or cardboard. Please note that 5kg and 10kg spools are only available in plastic. We encourage you to reuse and recycle them when possible. Some engineering materials we shipping in Plastic spool due to lower volume but allow you dry materials up to 90-100c with plastic spool and business will have plastic recycling process in plan to minimised plastic spool waste.
