How to install Dual Z Axis for Ender 3 Series

Created by DREMC STORE, Modified on Sat, 7 Mar at 6:31 PM by DREMC STORE

Upgrading your Ender 3 to a dual Z-axis setup addresses a common design limitation: gantry sag on the side opposite the single lead screw. This modification stabilises the X-axis gantry, reducing vibrations, eliminating Z banding, and improving overall print quality . This guide covers the two primary approaches, adding a second stepper motor (wired in parallel or independently) and belt-driven mechanical synchronisation kits . We provide step-by-step installation instructions, including PSU relocation, motor mounting, cable connection precautions (never plug the splitter directly into the mainboard), and critical alignment techniques using alignment blocks or manual measurement to ensure both sides remain synchronised.

Creality Dual Z Axis Rod can be purchased from DREMC in Australia.
